Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) Mid-Year Training Institute – We’re Presenting!

Linsey is heading to Atlanta this July to present “#SafeRidePasco: Using the Social Marketing Approach to Engineer Behavior Change in Communities” at the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) Mid-Year Training Institute.  This training will help coalitions utilize social marketing practices in their own initiatives and projects to promote and increase behavior change in their communities.  The #SafeRidePasco campaign will be used as a real-world example of how coalitions can use social marketing as an approach to community campaigns.

Utilizing coalitions to change behavior and/or policy is a powerful springboard in the social marketing approach.  In our training sessions, we’ll discuss the social marketing approach, using the marketing mix to develop an intervention/programmatic framework, and leveraging resources and relationships within the coalition to develop and implement a social marketing plan.

Individual and community behavior change is one part of an overall strategic plan for addressing complex health and social issues like substance use.  Policy change and community engagement are crucial to ensure sustainable changes and building an environment where the behavior change is easier, supported, and normal.  For policy change and increasing coalition advocacy capacity, the University of South Florida’s Prevention Research Center has developed a great framework for coalitions and community organizations:  Community Based Prevention Marketing for Policy Development Framework.

If you’re heading to the Mid-Year Training, please check out our training session!   Otherwise, contact us for more information about how we can help you implement social marketing methods into your organization.
